Benefits were terrible, perhaps the worst I've seen in any company. For starters, you could only choose United Health's medical plan, and the company didn't cover much of the cost of being on their lousy plan anyway. Inhumane and demoralizing working conditions for all EAP Counselors in SF office, new and veteran alike, and a stunning lack of humanity when it comes to how this company treats these counselors/specialists who tirelessly and compassionately work the lines day-in and day-out without sufficient time off these lines (even to use the toilet!). No real support from management either, but rather "coaching" functioning mainly to criticize and demoralize even the most seasoned and skilled counselor or specialist. I've never seen a less compassionate company, or more unhappy coworkers, anywhere! All who work there in SF seem either to leave in frustration, stay too long until they develop mental health problems themselves perhaps because they have no choice or can't see beyond this company, and yet all are somehow changed for the worse by the deplorable working conditions. No real rest breaks or not even a real "30-minute" lunch (more like 25 minutes as they nickel and dime you at every turn), nor ANY time to meet with colleagues off the lines (breaks are scheduled) to debrief or chat about something other than work; the "decompression room" I never saw used probably because there is no time allowed for it, little to no support from management whom I'm certain have even bigger managers breathing down their necks all day, too. No ergonomics at all, even when you ask more than once based on medical need. Bottom line: If you're seeking to be a small cog in a huge machine where seemingly arbitrary metrics/analytics from a handful of non-clinicians' business decisions ultimately override sound clinical judgment and basic human decency, then this is the place for you!
