Business Outlook
Pros
Managers have been very flexible with schedules, time off, and telecommuting. With my family, I'd be hard-pressed to work somewhere with rigid 'face time' requirements. Salary is good.
Cons
The business doesn't seem to have any yardstick other than share price, and no horizon longer than next quarter. While I find that to be a moral drawback, the more serious problem is that everyone runs around like a headless chicken trying to find quick and easy ways to boost sales figures. The only code changes I see approved are those that affect sales tools; changes that would make our systems work better for our customers seem to be viewed as having a limited ROI.
