Pros

Good technology at a decent price. Good support team. Good market space that won't be completely commoditized for another couple years.

Cons

Company operates a "boiler room" in Burlington, MA. Favoritism and cliques rule this company. Management is incompetent to the point of caricature. Pitiful base salary for sales reps. Unacceptable and inexcusable behavior by senior employees and management - too many instances to list. Policies and initiatives are laid out without follow through. Management doesn't lead by example. Key positions in the organization lack even the most basic understanding of the market space they inhabit.

Pros

Technology & Support are the only things that keep the company alive

Cons

If you are looking to work for Unitrends then you are out of luck, it doesn't exist anymore. Paul Brady, other executives and sales leadership aren't involved in the day to day activities. The Company is owned by Kaseya, a company that focuses on offering solutions for MSPs. The sales leadership and executive leadership is owned by Kaseya people who never took the time to understand the Unitrends marketspace and the potential it had to go after the MSP space as well as the Direct End user space. On top of all of those Cons this is a micro managed company where they are more concerned with call stats, activity reporting, and any other possible report you can think of, all of this comes down from the CEO (very unprofessional and loser of a human being) and the private equity owners of the company. The company culture is a very back stabbing and undermining company to work for that is run by a CEO who will publically insult their own employees in meetings.

Pros

Every now and then I visit Glassdoor to read up on the new reviews of Unitrends. It's truly disappointing reading all these negative reviews, especially since this is where I tell people I work. I understand the negative attitudes and comments, but it never seems to be a mature or professional response to changes that have been made. If everyone takes a step back and looks at some of the changes we have made, you will see the benefits and why certain decisions had to be made... Anyways, CHANGE tends to be the number 1 fear in peoples eye. Once a change is made, there seems to be a domino effect for employees here at Unitrends. Unfortunately, the only people that post on Glassdoor for us here at Unitrends, are those who are upset and angry at certain decisions. I've been with Unitrends through the ups and the down over the past couple of years and honestly, I've been happy pretty much the whole time! This is a great company to work for, the employees are great, there is high energy across the floor, and we have a friendly yet competitive sales floor. Not sure how many people reading this work for a company that provides a catered, gourmet lunch every day, but out of my friends and family, I'm the only one!! You would think free lunch each day would satisfy any employee and in turn create a positive atmosphere...Unitrends didn't stop there! We not only have a break room filled with cornhole, ping pong, a sound system, couches / chairs, and a basketball game, we also have a kegerator that Unitrends fills each Thursday with local craft beers for our weekly thirsty Thursday! Unitrends is a great place to be and I don’t plan on leaving this company any time soon!!

Cons

There are a few minor issues here at Unitrends. Most of them have been pointed out very aggressively in past reviews. I would like to mention again, as I did above, most people posting here with extremely negative reviews had something either just happen to them (either laid off or fired...personal opinion here - most of the people that got cut didn't deserve to work here anyways. If you don't work hard and just expect to get paid for sitting around and twiddling your thumbs all day, then you're not really valuable to a company. Not sure what they expected after months of poor performance and lack of effort!! I digress), or they were afraid of change and blamed their fear on Unitrends. Majority of people don't like taking responsibilities for their action and end up blaming something else...unfortunately in our case, they blame Unitrends. We can take the hits and move forward with our heads held high because for those of us working here, we know we are at a great place and have been given an opportunity that comes around only once in a blue moon! We are the highest paid inside sales team for technology companies in the greater Boston area...oh, and we have a arguably the best product on the market when it comes to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery!!!
