+ Some of the smartest engineers work here. + The people at Unity care for their customers and their product.

Cons

- Like any big organization, things can move slower than we'd like - C-level leadership did not listen to internal feedback. This looks to be improving.

Pros

Great brand, great user community with exciting products and a deep competitive mote. Generally very good people dynamics such as pay, policies and benefits.

Cons

The company struggles with long-term strategy. The management is very fickle and impatient often not letting the product teams make meaningful progress before moving a different direction. The company has made some poor decisions in the area of technology strategy. Examples such as with the purchase of FingerFoods and Weta Digital where little long-term market advantage was realized.

Pros

Pay and benefits were good. Nice co-workers, some who were a joy to work with. If you find yourself able to stay and management is good, it can be a really pleasant place to work.

Cons

During my time Unity was a big company with trouble defining its vision for the future, struggling to keep pace with its main competitior. The many waves of layoffs were not a great thing to experience, though hopefully they won't be a problem in the future. I had an abusive manager for a period who that made my (and many other co-workers') experience miserable, and it took a very long time for them to be held accountable.
