Multiple Reduction-In-Force where 2k+ people were fired. New CEO each year, but the same old clowns just below him.

* base pay was fairly low, so with underperforming stock the total compensation wasn't great (though being part of an amazing team was worth a lot to me) * with going public they also went corporate and the the values are better lived out at the team level than in leadership (though I have hopes for the new CEO Jim Whitehurst - fingers crossed) * little job security with the bonkers amount of layoffs (not just percentage but number of rounds) - they weren't performance based, so if you were on a project that got chopped you were most likely out, unless you could find a different role internally :/ - I survived many cuts until our project got hit.

Previous head of management made inexplicable mistakes post-IPO and put the company in the precarious position it is in today. New interim CEO's job was to cut aggressively to save money. The result might have saved the company in the short term but long term damage remains to be seen. Thankfully, he wants to go back to what Unity did best: develop the most versatile game engine in the world. Maybe there's a chance Unity gets back on the right track, but I won't hold my breath. Overall: bad management track record, old CEO out but some bad apples remain, new management is a mixed bag, uncertain future

C level are soooo bad.

change of ceos and lots of upper management politics

Morale is low, senior leadership is not trusted, employees don't believe in the future of the company. We just got a CEO and sentiment is cautiously optimistic though.

Biggest cons in the last few years were related to poor executive leadership. But that started changing with the new CEO (who let go pretty much all of the execs in his first year).

Turmoil after becoming a public company in 2020 (too many acquisitions, layoffs, unprofitable quarters). Hopefully Jim's changes create the necessary focus to improve financials and key products.
