Pros

- peers are friendly and nice people

Cons

- Software Engineering is under Product - Product runs the show. PMs command engineers on how to architect and build. PM will read tech articles, runs the sample "hello world" code then commands engineers to do it that way for fast delivery. - Toxicity of VP trickles down to engineering. This was reported by quitting engineers for years and CEO does nothing about it. - "Yes-man" engineers gets promoted by Product. - Product controls Engineering raises and bonuses. - Directors are all Yes-man. - Super high turnover rate - No career path.

Pros

Coworkers are the only thing keeping you alive. You suffer together those long hours, sometimes 12 hour days.

Cons

As a test engineer you do testing for the EE team, software team, and mechanical teams. This can lead to a bottleneck but you cannot complain as they will elevate to upper management. You run outdated tests and project managers have full control over you for 12 hours. Good luck trying to have a normal life coz it is over son! Your soul is theirs! And pay sucks.
