Pros

Plenty of opportunity for extremelly interesting work. Lots of great ideas. Free snacks. Flexible work hours, maybe sometimes to much so.

Cons

Vacation policy is terrible at best. Time tracking is a waste of time and is not structured to produce anything meaningful. Very hard environment to execute in, information is compartmentalized and spread across continents. Priorities are not well managed at all, and taking good projects from start to finish is nearly impossible. Infrastructure including IT is widely regarded as a joke.

Pros

The people and atmosphere at Universal Electronics are great. The team is small and the work is fast paced, and there are interesting technologies to work on.

Cons

Upper management (VP+) spends a lot of time micro-managing at low levels (individual contributor level) which can lead to frustration on the part of the team. The pay is below industry averages, and even salaried employees have to punch a time card every day.
