I think UFCU is a great company to work for. Work life balance is amazing. Benefits are a huge factor! most of the management is very encouraging for improvement and professional development. Lots of room for improvement and growth within the organization

Cons

I've worked for UFCU for many years, can't think of any.

Pros

Good opportunities to learn different roles doing job rotations. Incentives are great compared to many other financial institutions. Company seems eager to improve technology for members. If you are local to the Austin area there are a lot of social events to get to network. Company aims to keep everyone updated on changes and events.

Cons

Vacation and sick time has to be accrued before it can be used. Other institutions allow you to take vacation immediately upon hire. HSA employer contribution is low compared to big banks. No assistance offered to assist with drop-in childcare as with a bigger institution. Your only hope for advancement depends on whether your manager wants to advocate for you. Systems could use a major update. Your management team is hit or miss.

Pros

The company was growing quickly when I joined and it felt like they were having some difficulty maintaining the small company family feel as they grew. Good people, good benefits, clean office, and regular bank hours. Everything was perfectly adequate.

Cons

I never got excited about going to work. Nothing wrong with the place, its just not the kind of environment where I ever felt like people were poised to succeed and do big or interesting things. Its a lot of the same day in and day out. New projects are harder and harder
