An excellent place to practice medical social work.

The Social Work department is still run by social workers, not by nurses, which is not the case for most other hosptals in the area. Very supportive supervisor and director.

Cons

Working with the population that frequents the hospital can be emotionally demanding at times.

Pros

Good health care benefits, especially if you don't mind seeing Truman doctors at Truman locations. Many of my co-workers really do care about helping people.

Cons

Upper management has no idea what's really going on. They are all about appearances and don't really care if the work is being done. Parking is terrible.

Pros

Amazing benefits, fantastic coworkers. Only reason I’m giving it 3 stars.

Cons

Pay is not competitive. Paying thousands upon thousands each SHIFT for “critical pay” but will not raise wages. Got 1 “covid bonus” in 2020 and they continuously hang it over our heads about how it should be enough. 1-2% raises each year, not even matching inflation. Poor staffing ratios for nurses.
