An honest review of TMC

Pros

When I initially started working at TMC it was a great place. The culture is very laid back and diverse. Despite being short staffed it was still a fun place to work. You will learn a lot and will become a very skilled clinician. This is a good teaching hospital for a new nurse to build their clinical skills and confidence.

Cons

Executive leadership makes new policies without much thought to them. When these new policies back fire then it is quickly swept under the rug. The CNO gives off a cold and standoff vibe, she never speaks or greets staff when doing rounds. Patients with aggressive behavior basically get away with doing or saying what they want to staff without any form of repercussions (ex: A patient assaulted a pregnant nurse and he was not discharged). Also emails are sent out from the PR team on behalf of the executive leadership that come off as condescending. We all understand about wearing a mask but my goodness TMC is obsessive with it and will send it in an email everyday (like we get it).

The benefits are a perk, especially if you have a family or intend on having one. All is done in house.

Cons

They have a lower pay scale compared to other area hospitals. Market rate adjustment was completed, but not distributed fairly.
