Pros

They have great benefits and are an open culture. Free lunch, snacks, company outings and some very smart people

Cons

I think the COO has a certain type of image she wants for certain jobs and if you don't fit the mold you find yourself out.

Pros

- The mission is real, important, and prioritized by leadership. Some decisions, such as small dollar lending, are long-term bets that fit the mission but aren't expected to have any material business payoff in the next few years. - A lot of smart people and interesting challenges

Cons

- Extremely heavy process around quarterly planning, and re-planning. Hard to get anything done with so much bureaucracy. This process gets worse every year. - Eng leadership cares more about optics than impact. Hitting dates and predictability is higher priority than big swings. Risk taking is strongly discouraged. - Eng leadership is unempathetic about workload - or anything really. And unrealistic about expectations. - Flexible time off is a marketing tactic, not real. Hard limits are put in place at the VP level, who have to approve PTO. - Used to be competitive on pay until the stock dropped 90%. Attempts to pull people out from underwater on stock have not been competitive, encouraging people to leave and rewarding newcomers. - Layoffs are putting talented engineers' jobs at risk. - Very low DEI in Eng

Pros

- The pay for the PA role was decent. - Starting equipment was provided, including a laptop (MacBook) - One of the best interview processes I've ever experienced. I finished each interview feeling empowered and confident thanks to the interviewers skill at pulling out and highlighting the strengths I demonstrated in each response. The time between interviews was very short, and there wasn't a "project" portion, which while useful, can sometimes stretch out the application process.

Cons

- Training was a bit too short too for me to feel properly equipped for the role. - The trainer was very abrasive and inflexible. Refused to adjust to the learning style of the students and instead pushed forward with their lesson plan. When accommodations were requested, I was met with a response of, in essence, "this is a fast paced role, if you can't adjust, it might not be for you". - When I spoke with management about the training difficulties I was having, I was immediately treated as if it was my fault. ( Not pointing fingers - I just typically expect neutrality from leadership until all the information is gathered) - I saw very few BlPOCs during the meetings, and the few I did meet seemed to only be present in entry level, customer facing roles. I don't understand why the diversity score for this company isn't lower.
