The best job I've ever had

Pros

I chose to work for Upstream because of the incredible mission doing something no other group in the country is doing. Little did I know I would end up working for the best run nonprofit I have ever been a part of. Real focus on results, incredible support from supervisors, lots of room for growth, really kind and talented team.

Cons

Be sure that you are ok taking on unexpected projects and doing work beyond your job description. As a fast-growing nonprofit, you have to be able to keep up with things moving and changing quickly.

Pros

Innovative, forward-thinking and mission-driven organization. There is never a doubt in my mind that I am doing impactful work at Upstream. The compensation and benefits package is competitive and generous for a nonprofit. Leadership seems to genuinely care about equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace practices.

Cons

As with every company, there are growing pains. Many tools, systems, and processes are still being built out and fine-tuned. The fast pace is not for everyone.

Upper management (national) is out of touch with the staff. Bad communication and follow through from national. Lack of trust between employees and management
