Some good niches. They need to get their systems working better and be user friendly for agents to want to use them.

Cons

Has a "BIG" expense problem. Hasn't made an underwriting profit in a number of years. Management is to provincial in their thinking.

Pros

It used to be a great company to work for when I had started 10 years ago when employees were valued.

Cons

Values have changed over the years,offices being closed, dedicated employees fired or let go. Jobs posted but qualified people not hired, instead inexperienced people get the jobs for less pay. Work sent to India with poor customer service are only a few things going on.

-Workload is unbearable -management is terrible in all aspects. Inconsistent, horrible decision making, have no clue on how to operate the systems, they lie(every company lie's but its even more prevalent at utica), unable to motivate/inspire employees except by installing fear into them. -terrible results over the past couple of years in regards to their combined ratio. Expenses are wAy out of control.... -they think they are recruiting talent from other companies, however those are the scraps that other companies did not want.
