Pros

Really none come to mind

Cons

Constantly tries to change the internal culture of the purchased clinic into their LA culture. Doesn't support the hospitals in their need for Vets. Corporate undermines the local staff when a concern is brought up by a client that is abusive to staff.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear this was your experience—it’s definitely not what we hope for. At VCA, we really do try to keep that hometown feel in our hospitals while offering the support that comes with being part of a larger network. We’d love to understand more about your perspective and how we can do better. If you're open to chatting, feel free to reach out to our team anytime. Thanks again for taking the time to share.

Pros

Doctors are cool and some of the staff.

Cons

Lots of stuff. No consistency on training or protocols. No room for new ideas to help functionality of the facility. The flow of the ER/ICU can be greatly improved, scheduling can be improved as well. Everyone is to stuck on well we’ve always done this way mindset. Very clicky. Favoritism is blatantly seen

Thanks for sharing your experience and for being part of the team. We’re really glad to hear you’ve had good connections with the doctors and some of your coworkers. We also hear your concerns loud and clear. Things like inconsistent training, limited space for new ideas, and team dynamics can have a big impact on how it feels to come to work every day. That’s not something we take lightly. We’re always looking for ways to improve how our hospitals run and how our teams work together. If you’re open to chatting more, we’d really appreciate the chance to hear your ideas and experiences in more detail. Thanks again for speaking up.

Pros

Decent pay and good benefits

Cons

Upper management less supportive over the past few years. Autonomy has been taken out of the hands of hospital managers. Too much focus on one number… labor, with no consideration for other factors. Current hiring freeze and you can’t even attempt to get an ad approved until you are struggling with staff shortage. This causes further staff loss as they all get more burnt out. So your labor looks good, but at the expense of good staff members, patient care, and client satisfaction.

Thank you for your candid feedback—and for your long-standing commitment over the past 10 years. We truly value the experience and insight that comes from team members like you who’ve been with us through many seasons of change. We understand your concerns around support from upper management, reduced autonomy, and the challenges tied to staffing and labor focus. These are complex issues, and while some decisions are influenced by broader economic pressures and industry-wide constraints, we know that doesn’t make the day-to-day impact any easier. Striking the right balance between operational sustainability and supporting our teams is something we’re constantly working on. Your perspective is incredibly important in helping us do that better. If you're open to it, we’d welcome a deeper conversation to hear more about your experience and ideas @ Shareyourexperience@vca.com. Thank you again for your dedication and for speaking up its voices like yours that help shape a stronger future.
