Pros

There are no positives here

Cons

Hospitals cannot properly manage or keep good staff because everything is dictated at the corporate level. Hospitals hands are tied with regards to ordering, what products are carried or prescribed and discipline of staff. Agreements with drug companies are the norm and not good for patient care. Pay is lower than other corporations or individual practices. Corporate staff is predominantly unqualified for the jobs they have. I would not recommend VCA to other DVMs.

Pros

It felt like family Most of the doctors at my hospital were nice Benefits are good

Cons

24/7 hospital is rough hours Doctors who treated techs and receptionists horribly were not reprimanded as they should have been Over worked and under paid Reprimanded for overtime (even when under staffed) Understaffed too often Corporate cares too much about profits and not enough about staff. Gave my all to my hospital, put in a notice and still am told I am not re-hirable. (Email proof of my excellent work and that I was doing manager duties without a pay raise) My hospital in particular refused to re model certain areas where pets sleep that were utterly disgusting.
