Great for pets and clients - not super to work at

Pros

Great local clientele. Working with pets, mostly friendly. The staff are friendly amongst themselves socially (see * con). Small opportunity to cross-train when needed.

Cons

I disagree with the VCA company as a whole (HR policies, price-gouging on services). Hectic atmosphere (to be expected for a clinic). *Staff generally did not help each other nor communicate effectively while working and completing tasks. Management instituted new policies that severely cut efficient care of the animals. Overnight kennel accommodations are sub-par for dogs and cats (especially cats who only get a basic 2'x2' metal cage in the cat room). Small dogs have decent sized metal cages; large dogs get raised metal runs in the back with grate floors.
