Pros

Innovative, everyone I meet throughout VCA is really trying their best to help hospitals and medical teams provide the best medicine to animals, medically VCA is ok with doctors practicing different types of medicine as long as it is good medicine and achieving VCA's high standard of care, I have always felt extremely supported in my goal to achieve work-life balance - when I wanted to come back part-time after my maternity leave I was supported and the senior leadership was willing to work with me to find a way to make part-time work. I love the team I work with currently - my supervisor is extremely supportive - open to new ideas - and gives me a lot of freedom to be creative and my fellow team members on Medical Operations are all so talented, driven, and passionate about providing the best medicine - they inspire me on a regular basis to be better at my job!

Cons

It is a big company - change doesn't happen overnight. Sometimes I wish we could make new directions happen faster, but I recognize all the pros that come from being such a large company - we have the talent and resources to make really game-changing innovations - with just a little more time needed!

Pros

Stability and growth of the business, camaraderie among coworkers and colleagues is strong and uplifting here, pride in the work being done across the company, flexibility and reasonableness of the leadership, professional advancement opportunities, strong reputation for clinical excellence, good mix of peers who are new to the company and peers who have been with VCA for MANY years (it's a company you can put your roots into)

Cons

Sometimes there is responsibility and knowledge hoarding, more delegation is needed for some things

Pros

Opportunities for personal and professional growth, stability, support, advancement & pride.

Cons

Would like to see a larger commitment to support veterinary technicians to consider their position as a career path and to incentive assistants and technicians to want to stay in the field longer.
