Not worth the pay

Recommend

Pros

Mostly surrounded by people who care about animals Open to cross training

Cons

Not paid enough for the labor they want from you. To actually care about their employees, they would need to increase everyone’s wages by at least $3-5 dollars an hour to make a liveable wage but they don’t want to do that. Micro managed and everything is about making the most revenue possible. Any benefits they talk about aren’t worth it. Would be better with a liveable wage that reflects the volume of work they are asking for.

Pros

Good benefits, great pet discount, flexible scheduling.

Cons

Hiring from the outside for positions that require more knowledge. Clinic Promotes from within to positions with under qualified employees who don’t want to grow or do the work.

Pros

Using your skills and growing as a nurse High quality tools (somtimes)

Cons

•Absolutely insulting pay •Complete overbooking of appointments even if staff is super short •Have to beg for raises • On a hiring freeze so you will be chronically under staffed, but don’t worry, they also won’t reschedule anything! Good luck • Doctors can absolutely get away with what they want. And VCA forces them to be money hungry. Yes the doctors have quotas. • money hungry company that puts all employees last under the guise of “more pets needing care”. Oh and they force you to sell their monthly care plan.
