Pros

VCUH is a very progressive, forward moving academic medical center. The best and the brightest come here to learn, work and actively contribute to keep us at the top of our game! It's an exciting place to be at this challenging time in healthcare!

Cons

Having to pay for parking in the Richmond hospital market.

Pros

Work satisfaction depends a lot on the management of the unit, in my experience the ICUs are a better work environment than the general and progressive floors. The benefits at VCU are great. The experience is invaluable

Cons

Parking is expensive, pay is less than other hospitals in the area, but the pay cut is compensated by the learning environment a teaching hospital provides.

Pros

Great learning experience if youre interested in health care. Good level of autonomy for an intern position.

Cons

Because it is a hospital environment, many staff are constatntly stressed. This is understandable though.
