Pros

I’ve met good people and the benefits are good.

Cons

You can make much more money working somewhere else. Travel nurse have no loyalty and they make thousands a week while actual employees make $1500 every two weeks.

Pros

There are some team members, managers, physicians, nurses, therapists, and leaders who are great and wonderful to work with. VCU Health is highly mission-oriented and does great work within the community, especially if you are working for CHoR.

Cons

Unfortunately, there are marketing team members, both on the VCU Health and CHoR teams, who do not pull their weight and actually ask other team members to do their work for them. Some of these team members don't show up for meetings on time, will blow through project deadlines, and completely disrespect you as a colleague in many other ways. Sadly, I've never seen these individuals put on the performance improvement plans that they desperately needed. Oh, and they will also continue to receive a baseline merit increase due to how the annual review system is set up. The benefits that VCU Health provides are terrible/slim to none. Seeing VCUHS physicians is very affordable (though not covered by VCUHS) and is highly encouraged - but good luck getting an appointment in a reasonable time frame or requesting to see a specific doctor. Merit increases are horrific and don't even cover the rising costs of inflation.
