I started last year Sept. during my first semester of graduate school. I couldn't obtain a teaching assistant-ship so I sought a different option. I received an email promotion from VIPKID on teachers-teachers and looked into. They've since removed 7.5 hrs required per week allowing more flexible scheduling for full-time students working for them. Working app that allows you check schedules, make changes to your time slots, and edit profile. Strong community online and in real life encouraged by the company.

Cons

No benefits. Cancellations are still an issue especially now they've added 'soft cancellations' with proof of why you missed work due to severe illness or death in the family. Trial classes half the pay when they don't show up. Paid $8-9 per class, not per hour.

Pros

at first i was very skeptical of VIPKID but honestly, it has worked out really well for me. the pay comes out to about 20$ and it allows you a lot of flexibility and freedom to work from anywhere. i only do it for about an hour a day -- i can't imagine doing it full time! - but the extra money is nice and the kids are usually really cute.

Cons

bureaucracy, tech issues, not super personalized but other than that, no complaints
