Pros

Co-workers and the overall services provided for patients and their loved ones.

Cons

Orlando's program has the shadiest and corrupt upper-management ever. They low-ball your pay and pile up the expectations and amount of work you have to complete. Upper management does not care about patient care, only metrics and goals for the program. There is a lack of communication and a lot of service failures. Admissions overpromises services we can do and reps have to explain the reality of what we can provide. They do not tell you that you have to use your own money to expense items for your accounts and you are expected to spend money on them. There is no company card that they give to you with a budget. They will reimburse you 2 weeks later. Imagine spending thousands for your accounts and having to wonder if you are going to feed your kids or feed your accounts because the company expects you to. They also expect you to kiss up to nurses and other staff by buying them things instead of the company showing their appreciation themselves. Why should reps have to manipulate people in doing their own jobs? Upper management is racist and discriminatory. If they do not like you, they will use tactics to force you to quit instead of firing you without cause. It is because they want you to do exactly what they want without understanding the territory's needs. That is what they did to me. Harassed me so much that I decided to leave because of the pressure. And the pay sucked. This program will set you up for failure. Do not consider a job here for any position unless you are desperate.

Pros

Some colleagues are genuinely dedicated to their work. Opportunity to make a difference in patients' lives.

Cons

Management Incompetence: The management at Vitas is utterly disorganized and lacks the necessary skills to lead effectively. Decisions are often made without any regard for the employees or the impact on patient care. Lack of Support: As a multimedia producer, I found that there was zero support for creative and innovative ideas. The leadership is resistant to change and unwilling to invest in the necessary tools and resources. Poor Communication: Communication within the company is abysmal. Important updates and changes are poorly communicated, leading to confusion and frustration among the staff. Toxic Work Environment: The workplace culture is toxic, with a pervasive lack of respect and appreciation for employees. Upper management fosters a culture of fear and intimidation rather than one of support and encouragement. Overworked and Underpaid: The workload is overwhelming, and the compensation does not match the effort and hours put in. There is little to no work-life balance, with constant pressure to meet unrealistic expectations. Lack of Growth Opportunities: There are very few opportunities for professional development or advancement within the company. The focus is on maintaining the status quo rather than encouraging growth and improvement. Unrealistic Expectations: The demands placed on employees are often unreasonable and unattainable, leading to burnout and high turnover rates.
