      Pros

      VITAS absolutely lives by their value that patients and families come first; the benefits don't suck; diverse

      Cons

      Not taking appropriate safety measures during COVID (for both field and administrative staff), showing extreme favoritism, spreading all employees too thin due to high turnover/staffing crisis, the pay is not very competitive, the management team is a clique, corporate HR team is a joke, ZERO communication throughout program and company

      was able to pretty much choose my own schedule

      we had a supervisor who was not even a nurse. We did not know she was not a nurse,I went to her with nursing questions and she flubbed through giving answers. How can a manager who manages hundreds of CNAs, LPNS and RNs not even be a nurse? One box of gloves for a dying patient is NOT enough! Especially if they are declining, have diarrhea. Saving money at the expense of the patient is terrible!!! too cheap to give subQ meds which are more effective. Doctors do not know palliative care and give terrible orders to control symptoms. as a CHPN, I know better pain management than most of the doctors. it is frustrating. The health benefits , deductible is terrible. Still in debt from surgery I had.
