      There are some employees who really care about patients and families

      Cons

      Poor management, poor communication, corporate climate which is not appropriate for hospice work, expected to do more with less, no support, care more about how things look on paper than actual pt care, focus on minutia instead of staff

      Pros

      Coworkers support each other, helping patients to have a dignified and comfortable death is extremely rewarding!

      Cons

      CNA's were cut from the inpatient unit to save money and patients are suffering. Employees receive VERY low pay, and expensive benefits, The company is money hungry and cuts corners. Upper management is completely out of touch and has no hospice heart .

      The people-the mission-the paycheck.

      Cons

      If you are liked you will go far, very political, if your are a minority you have it made, if you do not think or vocalize a different opinion you will be promoted. If you are an ethical person who pays attention to your rights, Vitas will violent them and you can sue them for alot of money. Currently they lost am employee suit and will end up paying the employees money due to the settlement. This is one of many lawsuits this company has dealt with,ie malpractice /fraud, yet the executive team earned their 3 figure bonuses while other do not even make minimal wage.
