      Vitas only promotes incompetent people.

      Pros

      Some coworkers are fantastic and don’t even realize how much better they deserve.

      Cons

      It’s insane. The best nurses I work with, have been stuck in the same position for DECADES. Meanwhile, the new hires and people that we constantly have had to fix their mistakes get promoted after 3 months of working there. Don’t be too good at your job or they’ll keep you where you’re at. They have people training and “educating” others that have never worked in hospice care, never worked as a triage nurse, AND/or only worked bedside less than a year, and/or aren’t even nurses!!! I think that says everything that needs to be said about the company and how much they care about patient care.

      Experience working with a great company.

      Pros

      I work in a sacred space where we bring love and comfort to the patients in our care. I am blessed to work with a team of nurses that possess a heart for Hospice and each other.

      Cons

      I find no experience with VITAS Healthcare that I would consider negative, other than we could use more Chaplains in service.

      Pros

      Fair Salary, Autonomy is good. But the numbers (dying patients) is the bottom line.

      Cons

      STRONG ABUSE OF POWER FROM LEADERSHIP! Regional manager is unprofessional, condescending, with an EGO second to none. Unfortunately, they are allowed to speak to staff without repercussions.
