Pros

* This job could be great for BDR's, SDR's, etc. who want to try outside field sales. * If you like the slow burn of building relationships for people to like you, then this is for you.

Cons

* They expect you to buy treats, host in-services, etc., and use your own personal card to pay for those things for them to reimburse you (no company card). * You do not "close" any "sales" and have to rely on a nurse to admit the patients; your compensation is dependent on them admitting the patient. * You have to get a certain amount of patients being admitted before you even get commission, and the commission isn't even good. * This had some of the worst healthcare benefits I had at any employer.

Healthcare as a Call Center

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

The company offers remote positions (although they shut down long-time running veteran departments in some of the busiest states). You can work independently and have some good technology to help you out but you are always monitored and micromanaged. The changes happen so fast and the training is not implemented well. A nurse used to be able to take 1 call at a time, but after the significant changes, the nurses are constantly interrupted to be made aware that the company is understaffed and there are a plethora of calls on hold.

Cons

Lots of micromanagement, none of the higher-ups have healthcare experience. The nurses are not provided with the resources from supervisors with similar experience. Instead, they are provided with non-clinical staff to reprimand and perform monthly reviews rather than being able to contribute to growth. The company was also caught in significant scandals recently and often do not treat the core staff with respect. The most important drawback is the significant changes over the last few years (such as disbanding senior nurses who have been with the company for decades without warning, adding requirements post-hire, and a turn away from individual care to just becoming a call center to provide customer service instead of healthcare.)
