Pros

Free ski pass, some discounts at retail stores and restaurants - though very minimal, like-minded coworkers, living in the mountains

Cons

Basically everything you could imagine. The pay is awful, even if you're not a front line employee. The annual merit increase is practically nothing, but they still throw it in your face like they're really helping you out - a 19 cent increase is NOT going to help anyone in the costly ski towns that Vail operates in. There is literally no room for growth, even though they tell you to "hang on! opportunity is steps away" Well, after 2 years of working there, I went absolutely no where - despite the extremely hard work I put in, the long nights of working and not making overtime because my supervisor had to cover themselves from corporate. Taking on mass amounts of extra work because people drop like flies, so their work gets spread out amongst the few in the department, though, again, there is no compensation or acknowledgement. The CEO does a GREAT job at raking in the cream of the crop money from the stocks. Not to mention, he and the entire executive team have the "better than thou" mentality - which spreads down to the directors and execs at the various resorts.

Hidden Truths....'Fail' Resorts

Pros

Many of the employees are good hearted people

Cons

Senior Management and C-Level Management have way too many hidden agendas which can be shared to line level employees. The Senior Management Retreat is based on a show to support Rob Katt and C-Level management’s ego. It’s very sad. There’s a future there but only if you ‘Drink the Kool-Aid’. The discussion and the marketing of Culture & Values are all a green wash for the community. It’s about their own personal agenda and stability, and not the community or employees. There are way too many hidden truths. I sat in all those Senior Meetings and it sickens me greatly.

Pros

- I really do not have one good thing to say about this company. - It is ok if a temporary job, of first job.

Cons

- Very disorganized and cheap company - Don't expect to learn anything from this company or their leaders... they really don't care. - Lowest pay in the market - Time off / holiday : Holidays comes out from your PTO if you decide to take thanksgiving/xmas off.
