Pros

I spent a life changing year supporting the growth of this incredible Data & Email startup. From PreSales to Tech support to office building to Sales operation territory creation and data analytics this role pushed me to learn and put my hand to almost everything that made the company pulse and I couldn't be more grateful for the support and guidance I was given during that time. PROs were - International Exec Team (Hydey,Wayne,Helen,ChrisB) for their honesty, strength and guidance. Because of the startup nature there would be times you'd be rallied to arms and supporting or owning projects outside of your comfort zone, but they would ALWAYS be available to support and guide you through if you needed it. I feel like I've been given a Masters degree in Business worth of experience and knowledge by being exposed to it and I couldn't be more thankful. - The Products! Within PreSales we are frontline selling the virtues and nothing makes that more enjoyable to do that knowing the Products are the best in class. Turning up to some calls to find the customer already enthusing about what they are going to do with DemandTools or how they are going to smash their next big email campaign lights you up! - The Team & Culture! One thing that this Covid-19 timeframe has shown me is when chaos swirls you immediately reach out to those closest to you, friends and family to find comfort, build strength and rally stronger. That is exactly what Validity has been like through the whirlwind of startup life. There have been chaotic days of things changing and unexpected hiccups, but the Team we have and the family like unit we became in the face of such challenges made it incredible to come in to the office. This also extended to the US office who made me feel so connected even though we had thousands of miles between us. Peter, John, Stuart, Elaine, Don and so many others would give me time and energy to solve problems and discuss ideas! - The Freedom! Like no other role I've had before Validity gave me the ability to stretch my wings and fly into new skills and challenges. The most important part however was the fact that it was completely ok to fail (and I did!) and then learn from that and get better. There was no greater proof point to this than when after a year I was giving the option to completely change my career choice and develop into an internal Analytics role. - The package (Money basically) - I know I know it shouldn't be the major factor in your job choice however it's absolutely one of them and I was really fortunate to have such a good base salary and commission structure!

Cons

Only real Con for me was being quite a way out of Central London for an office location :) But you quickly realise you can start clearing through your backlog of unread books when faced with the Metropolitan line, did always get a seat though :)

"smoke and mirrors"

Pros

Unlimited vacation, snacks, some good people still left from acquisitions, strong products.

Cons

I read a review that proclaims that leadership lacks emotional intelligence and I couldn't agree with this more. It's true that our CEO said we'd "make it rain with sales" amidst the wildfire destruction in Australia when speaking to our Sydney office. And amongst the coronavirus hysteria he sent a very off-tone email emphasizing everyone to make more calls with the extra time at home, disregarding our well-being and showing little to no sympathy to the current working environment. The leadership loves to boast about the company culture but I'm still not sure what that culture is?? It reminds me of when Trump speaks and provides zero context to statements. When someone asked about 401k match anonymously on a call, he said that if that employee is concerned about a 401k match then they should look elsewhere for employment. It was asked at the wrong time, but still maybe don't tell your talent to leave? It's no surprise everyone from the Return Path acquisition is quitting because that was a real people-first culture. It's hard to feel valued at Validity. The products and the product teams from acquisitions are good so it's sad to see this happening.

hi, this is Mark, Validity's CEO. Well, this is a tough review. First, to my friends and colleagues in Sydney (as they know), I had their backs during the destruction of the wild fires and I continue to care about each of them deeply. The "we'll make it rain with sales" comment was a joke I used with them - during a much longer talk around compassion - and is being taken out of context here. I would encourage the reviewer to Slack or email any of your team-mates in our Sydney office and ask them, and am disappointed that you chose to take this comment out of context. With regard to the matching 401k comment - this has been a recurring question in several of our company meetings, as we discontinued the 401k matching program that had been in place at one of the companies we acquired (so that we would have a balanced playing field across all Validity employees). At this time, Validity does not match 401k contributions, though will continue to look to evaluate doing so in the future. That is unlikely to happen in 2020, given the overall economic challenges with the Covid-19 pandemic. The comment I made in the town hall was encouraging our team to focus on why so many of us have chosen to work together at Validity (competitive compensation, stock options, high-growth environment, and a team that has your back in an environment where you have the opportunity to make a difference every day), as opposed to looking for a job that matches 401k. This is about building a great company together, which I know is what so many at Validity find exciting, and if all you really want is a job with a matching 401k, then you'll probably be happier somewhere else. Ultimately, we have added hundreds of jobs in offices across the world, and thousands of customers who get great value in being part of the Validity family -- all over the last two years. This high growth environment means that each member of our team has to want to make a difference, and want to work hard together on continuing to build our company forward. I am glad that this reviewer found a few "Pros" to note, though honestly, I would hope that our unlimited vacation policy and free snacks are the least noteworthy things about being part of the Validity family. I would encourage this reviewer to contact me directly about ways to get more involved in all the great projects we have underway, or if that is intimidating, then to share ideas with your team members or manager about ways to get more involved. I suspect this will lead to you having a much more positive experience, alongside the hundreds of other happy team members across the world who love helping build our company.

Pros

Fast paced working environment, with the next exciting move always around the corner. Make your own success, everybody is given the responsibility and chance to contribute - new ideas are always welcome. Senior leadership is accessible and always available. Best in class product suite, with innovation occurring across the board.

Cons

Growing pains, nothing that a hyper-growth company wouldn't expect... steps are already underway to help ease the pains in 2020.
