Pros

Nice office space with some good people and free snacks.

Cons

The place is like the wild west, no direction and no trust across the board. A very combative, aggressive and contentious leadership starting from CEO and down to his leadership white guys. Unresponsive, useless and none existing HR. No real opportunity to grow within the company unless you're a friends with someone higher up, management picks favorites and those are the only people they listen to. They always look for a fall guy to blame, instead of looking and fixing the real issue. Speak your mind and your fired the next day.

Pros

Good coworkers, some approachable leadership, and decent products.

Cons

Feels very corporate and not in a good way. Company has an air of depression around it. Semi-niche product line. Lots of cold calling. Company strategy benefits executive team, almost-exclusively. Based on conversations with numerous other reps, a lot of reps were not close to the OTE provided in our comp plans, since the large majority of reps were far from quota. Be prepared for many uncomfortable sales calls with customers who are more than upset that you're telling them to pay 10x from last year for the same tool/service. Uncomfortable business practices (acquire, inflate cost up to 10x, resell exact same product/service and hope customers don't blow you up) and extremely low morale. For good employees, above average turnover, as a lot of talent left willingly (yikes). A lot of overpromise/underdeliver to employees and it eventually catches up and good people leave. Many reps constantly have one foot out the door waiting for something to come their way, so it makes it hard to recommend Validity. Moral of the story - Job market is hot, so there are easy-to-find, better alternatives for an inside sales rep role, based on some simple online tools/searches.

Thanks for your feedback. The SDR (Sales Development Representative) role creates and develops leads, so that does involve cold calling--this is reinforced in the interview process and an integral requirement of the job. For Sales/SDR roles, quotas and comp plans are reviewed and adjusted annually as the business improves its ability to capture metrics/data; these revised plans then increase opportunities for attainment, including the new plan rolled out in January 2020. Validity is a young company (not yet two years old), so it is consistently honing its processes, tools and resources in an effort to become a best-in-class workplace and business. Give us time and we'll get there!

Disappointing Experience

Business Outlook

Pros

There isn't a single redeeming or quality about this organization. No one likes coming to work.

Cons

The place is a sham. There isn't one single person in the Boston office that is satisfied with the work environment. The place is becoming a sweatshop with no culture. Everyone is afraid of losing their jobs. The entire organization is managed by intimidation. No wonder that people don't stay more than a year. Stop posting the fake good reviews and fix the issues.

We're disappointed to hear about your experience at Validity not meeting your expectations. We strongly disagree with your statement that the company posts "fake reviews"--this is absolutely not a practice at Validity and does not align with our company values. It's quite possible that other people simple enjoy their work and/or the Company environment, even if it's not for you. We have many employees, including in our Boston office, who have worked for Validity for more than a year, so we are confused about your statement to the contrary. With that being said, we will be investigating your comments about intimidation and fear of losing jobs, as this is not aligned to the culture we strive to create and maintain.
