Pros

It was a good enough experience to be put on my resume.

Cons

I worked for several more jobs than I signed up for. I was doing the work of three people all at once. I could live with than since I knew the company was still growing but what didn't sit well with me was the lack of appreciation. Instead, what I received was ridicule and criticism with my work. I was doing all these for nothing!

I am sorry you feel this way. We try very hard to find the right place for someone in our organization and I understand that sometimes it is not a fit. We wish you the best in finding a role that is the right fit and makes you happy. Mikey

Pros

There really aren't too many positives/pros with this company. Ownership has the best intentions, however, the best intentions fail with poor execution. The building and premises are well maintained and modern. The majority of staff are friendly and accommodating.

Cons

Do your homework before accepting any role with this company, especially reviewing company reviews. In a company that has an abundance of management, the company suffers from a lack of leadership, especially at the executive level. Open office concept where no one really has much privacy in their workspace. The company also has severe employee turnover, especially in management. During my tenure with Valley Forge, 3 management level (accounting) employees left in a very short period, leaving the accounting team in a period of transition. Management team was constantly in a "state of transition". Certain members of management, especially in accounting and operations, manage not by leadership but by bullying. The recent review that highlighted the issues with the accounting department were valid. "Head in the sand" management approach. No integrity. The accounting team does not have any documented policies/procedures. All practices/knowledge is centralized/controlled by the manager, which leaves executive leadership/ownership in a difficult position. Always get documentation. The company isn't too keen in putting promises, etc. in writing. There is so much more to say but seriously, please, do your homework before accepting any role here. There are obvious reasons why they have to try to fill roles on a temp/contract basis. They also have issues w/ high turnover with temps/contractors. Insurance: high deductibles and high premiums. Clear separation between employee and management. Management gets more PTO days. It takes an employee 10 years to get the same amount of PTO days (accrual) as management. Remove the separation. Show the employee that they're just as valued as management.

I work extremely hard to understand the point of view of everyone I interact with. I was confused by your feelings when at VFF, and am very confused now. The role was a temporary role, and this was in all of our verbal and written communication. We know it was upsetting that this did not become permanent, but it was always intended for temporary, and we could not change that. We kept all commitments made in your offer. We also do have documented policies and procedures in our departments. I am sorry you have these feelings. I am unsure how to respond other than this message, and no matter what, I do wish you the best in your future. Mikey
