Pros

The nursing staff is great. They work together, help without having to be asked, strive for top-notch service to their patients, patients' families and co-workers. Nursing is always working to improve everyone's experience and outcome.

Cons

Can overrun your life with the constant committee meetings. Hard to advance unless you take on an improvement project or get deeply involved in any of the many ongoing initiatives. Have moved to an all BSN hiring policy.

There are many opportunities for growth. Also working for VHMG, my schedule was flexible and my manager worked around my school schedule.

Cons

Upper management was often disorganized. Our professional developments were dull and I found little purpose in them. Overall I enjoyed the company very much.

Cons

Professionalism is not exhibited by management and lines are crossed by upper management. Directors seem to feel they are unapproachable and no loner need to prove anything. They have arrived where they want to be and the heck with everyone else.
