Pros

Some coworkers are very helpful and most charge nurses are willing to help. The pay and differentials are extremely competitive with nearby hospitals. When talking to nurses who work in neighboring hospitals, it seems as though the work environment and general patient outcomes are much better at Valley. Doctors are usually very nice, professional, and informative, and do not mind being called for further questions or orders.

Cons

Certain charge nurses, nurses, and PCA's are most of the time unwilling to leave the nurses station. This requires other nurses to help their patients in addition to their own assignments, and answer additional call bells, adding to workload. This can make shifts much more difficult and unsafe for patients.
