Pros

Opportunity to work on projects for large, well-known companies in the industry, which is great for experience and your resume. Chance to work with and learn from talented creatives. Very friendly and easy-going colleagues. Generous PTO.

Cons

I think if I had joined Valtech outright, my experience would've been a bit different. But I joined Valtech as part of an acquisition. I was told that nothing was going to change, but literally everything changed. Every tool we switched to seemed somehow worse and more inefficient than the last, and this happened several times a month. It just never stopped. Senior leadership appeared to be doing their best to communicate company changes, but they themselves didn't fully understand them or the company roadmap. Every large team meeting to answer questions only ended up creating more questions. Work/life balance was awful. There were many nights where I was up late working, and sometimes that happened for several months straight with 60+ hour work weeks. Additionally, there were way too many meetings and not enough time to actually get work done, which was a big reason for those late nights. The company also has a problem with its identity. Valtech (especially in North America) is really just a bunch of agencies bought up and smashed together; the cultures do not line up. Workflows are always different. There are no universal processes for anything. So anytime you get pulled into a project to help another office/team, it's almost always a learning curve just to figure out where to find things and how to communicate. It’s almost like starting a new job every time you start a new project.
