Pros

Valtech pays fairly well. The people you work with on a day-to-day level, the developers, consultants, analysts, leads, etc. are all very talented individuals. I've never worked with any better teams. Fairly good benefits package.

Cons

Lack of any leadership that actually knows how to run a business. Bad decision after bad decision with no accountability across the board. No communication as to what is going on, and what you do get usually turns out to be out right lies.

Pros

Valtech still has a lot of great people working there. In fact, with the exception of certain executives/managers, there are almost no "dummies" (for lack of a better word) to be found.

Cons

Valtech is in flux. If I had to describe it, they are at step 2 of a 3 step reinvention process and don't know what step 3 is yet. This, combined with customer contracts coming and going, leads to uncertainty and diminished job security.

Pros

1. Excellent respect for work-life balance 2. Generally has good insight into properly doing Agile (though clients can sabotage this). 3. Have some excellent, technically savvy, consultants

Cons

1. Lack of vision; way too reactionary to market trends 2. Knee-jerk reactions (Hire lots of college grads, then blame them for project failures and fire then all at once; Hire a bunch of Senior VPs and fire them a few months later, then a few reappear again another month later) 3. Murky requirements for promotions and reluctance to promote 4. Basically the offshore model on-shore; most projects just maintenance work or small enhancements that could be done in India; not many real consulting projects 5. Pricing model still in flux, with lack of profits 6. Lack of projects due to recessionary environment 7. Projects that could be profitable are not due to questionable personnel decisions and over-staffing 8. Lack of accountability - laziness and incompetence not quickly confronted and re-mediated
