Dumpster Fire

Pros

Leaving this review so that candidates considering interviewing for roles at Valtech have an honest and objective view on things. Simply put - avoid Valtech at all costs. This is not a well run company. Culturally it's a dumpster fire as the company has struggled to merge acquired companies into one entity - lots of fiefdoms. Most senior level/C-level execs are poorly equipped to run teams - there's zero leadership here. Most of the leadership team is in their role because their agency was acquired by Valtech and by default they were given the position. New business acquisition is non-existent. Most new business is acquired through RFPs, although there is a bus dev in team in place now which is great. But the company is trying to pivot to an 'AI focused' consulting org. Make no mistake - Valtech is NOT anything close to a consulting org. This is a glorified body shop. I honestly wish this wasn't so - there are some smart and extremely capable people that work here, but leadership will drive this place into the ground. Avoid at all costs.

Cons

Zero leadership. No new business. Unrealistic timelines/expectations. Lack of resources. Constant layoffs. Poor company culture. Zero transparency. Be everything to everyone mentality in order to try and win business. Body shop at best.

Pros

Remote work, flexible PTO policy

Cons

If you're looking for a stable job with competent leadership—look elsewhere. This company is a textbook example of the Peter Principle in action, where people are promoted based on tenure rather than talent, and the results speak for themselves. The executive team is completely out of touch. Most have been with the company for 20+ years and wear that like a badge of honor, as if longevity compensates for the fact that they have no idea what “good” looks like. They’ve created and now perpetuate a toxic, disorganized, and outdated environment. Instead of evolving, they cling to the way things have always been done. Their recent acquisition of Kin + Carta could’ve been a turning point, a chance to modernize and bring in fresh ideas. Rather than learning from Kin + Carta’s more modern practices, leadership forced them to regress and adopt the company’s outdated, inefficient ways. It’s a wasted opportunity driven by ego and fear of change. Run—don’t walk—if you care about career development, innovation, or being part of a high-functioning team.

Positive People, Poor Leadership.

Pros

The location of the office is amazing and the employees are what make the company unique, the employees who are actually doing the work (building, designing, and billing hours). The benefits are okay, pretty standard. The coffee keeps the office going and the occasionally social events (usually once a month).

Cons

Little "Culture" because billable employees are constantly billing hours for clients. Management is only concerned about clients needs and do not listen/respect employees. It's a boys club within management, which negatively effects the office vibe. No growth plans in place and poor performance management practices. Reactive work environment with little planning.
