Pros

Some old clients and a few good employees who are sales people and consultants. I was hired by a recruiter from a job posting and they do staffing for Java and Microsoft skills. Valtech acquired Adea which did IT staffing and projects sometime in early 2011. Adea was a famous company in Dallas and had good sales people and long term employees. I worked there and was on a few good projects. Adea had offices in other countries and a big team in India. The acquisition was successful due to the strong management team from Adea that worked very hard. It was a smooth transition in the US and Adea team brought new life into Valtech. They got many customers. However, the French management team and some other inexperienced managers in US tried to control the company, and as one employee who left the company said – “it was their first time at the rodeo”!

Cons

In the last few months, most of the top management have left the company including the CEO, CTO, CFO, many Vice Presidents and consultants. I heard 2 or 3 CFOs in headquarters left the company in last year. Someone in the Glassdoor posts mentioned that “a number of people self selected to leave the organization…”. This is not true. I worked with many people from the Adea team and others who left. They left the company due to the new management team who wanted them out and others left due to lack of opportunities. I heard many compliments about the CTO who left the company. He ran the Indian operations and made it successful. He got many customers and had a great reputation. The Adea CFO was tough and always asked me hard questions because he knew the business. I knew the CEO who came from Adea. He was respected by the employees and customers. He had a crazy reputation of working all the time and was nice to everyone. He went to a customer with me and was ready to do coding to fix the problems. I heard that the management team that runs the company now violated most of the Adea contracts and so there are many lawsuits. Before Adea was acquired, Valtech was not known in US and they did training. They had no culture and had few employees. I left because there was no work for my skills. The management team is led by HR manager which my old colleagues cannot believe. The French managers are learning about US and they brought many people from Europe. I heard they had a new strategy, but I did not get a chance to work on those projects. They asked me to learn new skills but never sent me for training. One of the people who posted on Glassdoor says “the company started growing like crazy at end of 2012”. Maybe this is because of the strategy and efforts of previous management. The new management cheated many people of their dues, and so must be using that money to make profits. The management team takes big salaries like more than $ 500,000.

Pros

Pays on time when you are in project.

Cons

HR, Management, Very bad marketing team.. I think there is only one person in marketing team and she does a horrible job. When you have a project in hand this company will transfer your H1 without any issues. They will make false promises that they will apply for green card and work on your compensation, etc, etc. As long as you are in a project they are not bothered. Even if you are not satisfied with the project and request to move to a new project they will never listen to you. As long as they are getting their money from the client they are fine. Once you are out of your project then they will start searching for a new project for you. Their marketing team is so bad they can't find a project anywhere in US for 2-3 months. And then they will start the harassing you saying that they will cancel your H1 as they did what ever they could do and they can't afford you. And by the way they wont pay you when you are on bench even though you are a full time employee. Hr will give you a stupid reason for not paying you. They will put you on leave. So after 3 months you will be fed up and look for a project and transfer your visa. They really don't care about the employees. I sincerely request not to transfer your visa to this company. They follow use and throw policy.

Pros

Company has a global presence so there is the opportunity to move around and try a different location if you are unhappy where you are--provided you are willing to stick with the company and willing to uproot your life and move.

Cons

Work can be quite boring and the environment is political. You can luck out on a good project here and there but don't bet on having consistently interesting work. Company does not give bonuses. HR is very slow processing expenses. Very few women in leadership position so don't get your hopes up.
