Pros

Developing professional skills: There is a vast amount of resources available - from internal learning courses, financial webinars, crew resource groups, fireside chats, etc. It's hard not to grow as a working professional. Invest in yourself and career in the long term. Networking: Everyone is so friendly. They respond quickly over teams, are willing to set up time with you, and you can rely on them for advocacy when the time comes for career advancement. Total Compensation: Salary may be lower than a competitive rate but the benefits make up for it. You can bundle your car/renters insurance and deduct from your paycheck. Free therapy sessions, fertility treatment, adopting resources, and available discounts are awesome. People only scratch the surface as to what's available. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Great environment. Anonymous reporting hotline available, HR readily available through live chat or submitted cases, people passionate in leadership, crew resource groups, etc. So many opportunities to belong. Career Advancement: Entry level roles are in the call center. Build your expertise, learn about the industry and business, and reach out to people for help. Network! There are roles posted every single day. Time in Job is not a punishment - it's necessary to become a Subject Matter Expert that is skilled enough to move on. Stand out from the crowd!

Cons

Expectations: Especially for the Client Relationship Associate position, people just don't seem to understand that they are applying for a CALL CENTER role. They'll complain about calls all day (yes, they can be tough) but the knowledge gained and industry experience is worth it long term. If you apply yourself, communicate with your leader, and be intentional with your career then you'll find success. Metric Management: It's really tiring sometimes. Lots of burden on leaders who have to do administrative work. There is an over-abundance of data available. Yes there is micromanagement over metrics - You are in a call center. It's just a fact. Unrealistic metrics is subjective - is it unrealistic because you disagree with it or is it actually unrealistic.
