Pros

Only thing I can honestly say that's good about this place after 10 years is the PTO.

Cons

This company has become focused on only one thing, metrics. It has forgotten the two most important things that made this company, clients and crew. Crew on the phones are so overworked that it's the cause of all the poor service clients receive. The pay is horrible. For the amount of stress you deal with, it's not worth it. You get screamed at all day by clients for problems that have nothing to do with you. They cut many employees benefits due to the restructure. You take away someone's year end bonus they are not going to perform well. This place is no longer what it use to be. Run, don't just walk away from this company. If you aren't willing to drink the kool-aid you will either not advance or once you hit 40 they will find a way to get you out.

Pros

Good benefits and PTO. Company recently implemented an awesome incentive plan for overtime hours worked.

Cons

This is absolutely the worst place I have ever worked at. Clients are suffering from poor internal processes, outdated systems, constant employee turnover and that's just a small portion of what's wrong. Clients call in all day long yelling and screaming mostly about turnaround times, incorrect information and the millions of hoops they have to jump through to get access to their money. The absolute worst part of working at Vanguard is the disrespectful ways that employees treat each other. Management's way to deal with this is too just not promote these individuals and not give them increases in pay which just makes them more miserable. How about some good old fashion leadership and give people feedback about "HOW" they are behaving. This punitive environment has so much focus on defects. We are all human and by default will make errors because we are simply not perfect. Managers run around coaching people loudly in their cubes. There is no respect for your individual privacy. You have some managers who will record a defect follow up in Verint when they have not even discussed the defect with their employee. This environment is so punitive that you barely feel like you are doing something well. The pay is absolutely a joke. The amount of information that you are required to know, learn, discuss, the outdated systems, lack of professional leadership (some, not all) and brutality that you have to endure from your own coworkers far out ways the pay and benefits.

Pros

A paycheck Coworkers Licensing if you stay in finance

Cons

I've written a review with a large list of cons. This is a soul-sucking company that doesn't give a damn about its employees or the client experience except to get them off the phone FAST. You will be treated like a child and micromanaged worse than you'd experience in high school. Need to use the bathroom? Better be using part of your 30 minute break to do that. Dare to spend the time to actually guide clients through the process they need help with and thoroughly answer their questions to help them understand what they're doing? Not OK, get them off the phone, youre costing Vanguard money. This company does not give a DAMN about you. They'll act as though their benefits are just the bees knees and not found anywhere but they're average. Maybe even below average. When you hear/read 18+ PTO days make sure you account for the fact that there is no personal or sick time. So basically almost 4 weeks to start total. Very average compared to companies with sick/personal time too. The pay is awful, especially if you're at the malvern location. Hope you have a roommate to split costs bc you won't afford it alone if you don't want to live in a slum! The team leaders are fake as can be and their managers aren't much better. Ive never had a job make me so incredibly miserable in my life. I was ready to go beg for a Xanax prescription to try to tolerate this job until I could find a new one. I spent all my free time studying for certifications and used all my PTO to take tests for them just to get out of this hell-hole. Please do NOT give any credence to these positive reviews. They are written by HR or someone who truly had Stockholm syndrome. This place will ruin you until you can finally escape. One of the happiest days was the day I walked out of the building for the last time. FIND. A. DIFFERENT. JOB. I wouldn't recommend this job to someone I absolutely despised.
