Poor Senior Management and CEO

Pros

-Benefits are good, and fairly inexpensive. -401k matching is 4% and then they contribute 10% of your pay to your 401k too. -18 days of PTO to start and increases over your years worked.

Cons

At Vanguard, you are not a an individual, you are a number and a metric. You will have limited say on actions or decisions that will impact your job. You may have some say on your direct team's level, if you have a good direct manager, but all decisions really fall on senior managers who have no clue how to run anything or treat you like a person. Feedback to upper management will be ignored. There are yearly surveys done, and nothing brought up by the employees is ever implemented. Big topics have been on working from home and burnout. Many want to work from home and have voiced this, and the solution is senior managers telling employees how we actually want to work in the office and then threaten to fire you if you don't. Many roles here will be monotonous, and paired with working long hours just adds to the burnout. Senior level management's solution to this is nothing. It's just, don't be burned out, get back to work, and you better be in the office. Current schedule is working in office Tuesday-Thursday, but it's been rumored that this model is temporary and we will go back to Monday-Friday in office at some point. I place this as a con as so many other companies are allowing their employees to work from home indefinitely or give them the option to come into the office when they want to.
