Vanguard is a great company to start your career. They pour a ton of time and resources into developing you into your role. For the most part, you are able to move around into a new position pretty quickly. Naturally, the higher you get, the more competitive the jobs are. In terms of benefits, they have gone down in quality somewhat, but are still great. The amount of paid time off (PTO) is amazing - and will always be something that holds me to Vanguard. Partnership is great, but the structure of the payout could be better.

Cons

Pay seems to be under the industry averages. Some people will not like the environment as it is very structured and definitely a top-down management style.

Great place to start a career and learn the industry. Good benefits, though the costs have risen dramatically in the past couple years.

Cons

There's a ceiling for moving up within the company. Promotions are generally given either to external hires or to young employees who are relatively new to the company (less than 2 years with Vanguard).
