Pros

Vanguard is a great place to work for a lot of reasons. First, the company is ethical and treats its employees and customers the right way. The management team is very competent and the work life balance is pretty good.

Cons

The main disadvantage is the pay for performance philosophy, or lack thereof . They are a very conservative company by nature and that extends to compensation. There isn't a lot of motivation to do a truly great job.

Pros

Good benefits package. It is similiar in nature to other no-load fund company packages. Overall the organization has hired quality people who enjoy working as I have known others who worked at the organization, left and returned. I guess the grass isn't always greener on the otherside. I feel you have opportunity to work with a very good organization with lots more market share to be gained.

Cons

Limited locations throughout the country as there are only 3 locations to work from either in the frozen northeast or the scorching hot of the southwest. Nothing like diversification.
