      Great Place to work for the family/work balance but they will keep you poor

      Pros

      The Vanguard Brokerage department was a great place to work for the family / work balance. Very little stress, opportunity to learn a lot and a lot of great people there

      Cons

      Took forever for someone to enact a decision. Every week we would get surveys on how to improve things but seemed to fall on deaf ears. You would spend half your day in useless meetings. opportunity to do a lot of jobs but not many places to go up. Culture is some what old fashioned. They haven't learned that it is ok to have fun at work and have a relaxed atmosphere, they should learn from companies like google - RELAXED AND ENJOYABLE ATMOSPHERES MAKE EMPLOYEES HAPPY WHICH FOSTERS A MORE PRODUCTIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT. Like I said before, low pay

      Pros

      Good Place to start a career. Nice surrounding area. Good leadership programs. Pleanty of vacation days. Not overly competitive work environment.

      Cons

      Salarie and bonuses are much less at Vanguard but the pressure to perform is proportional. You wont run into many hard to replace workers since its the system itself that is hard to replicate.
