Pros

The company has a solid standing in the industry and offers a quality product. For those in remote roles (which make up the majority), there’s definitely a sense of long-term stability and work-life balance. I spent around two and a half years as an account executive and found it to be a generally comfortable and steady position.

Cons

After spending a few years with the company previously, I returned in hopes of working my way back into a higher-level role. In hindsight, I would have approached that decision differently had I known how things had shifted internally. The organization has gone through frequent leadership changes — which can be expected in fast-moving environments — but the way performance targets are managed seems to come at the expense of structure and clarity. There’s a strong emphasis on company values and culture, but in practice, how those values are applied can feel inconsistent. Alignment with certain internal groups seems to have more impact on one’s experience than actual performance at times. There are definitely some talented, kind, and hard-working people at this company, and I built some great relationships during my time there. That said, not everyone has the same experience — especially when facing personal challenges or attempting to navigate unclear dynamics with management. After a particularly difficult period in my personal life, I found myself in a position where I had to raise concerns with HR — something I never imagined I’d have to do in my career. I had used a small amount of the company’s unlimited PTO policy during this time, but was met with scrutiny and micromanagement that felt out of step with the intent of the policy. Feedback from peers suggested this wasn’t an isolated issue. After filing a formal concern, I was placed on a performance plan. While I acknowledge my metrics had taken a temporary dip, I ended the year just shy of goal. Even so, I was let go shortly after — via video call — without a clear explanation that aligned with the actual numbers or contributions. I had even reached out through the internal channels encouraged by leadership to express concerns in good faith. That outreach went unanswered. When my belongings were finally sent to me, several were damaged — including awards I had received previously. I was told nothing could be done. To be fair, there are people at this company who are doing great work and who seem to be thriving under certain leaders or in specific business units. But it’s clear that experiences vary widely depending on where you land. Coaching, training, and consistent leadership have been ongoing challenges, and more recently, the shift toward outsourcing support has had an impact on the customer side as well. This company still has potential, but some critical issues around internal consistency, accountability, and employee support need to be addressed for it to truly live up to the vision it presents externally.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and for the years you spent contributing to Vector Solutions. While we’re glad to hear you found value in our product, remote flexibility, and the relationships you built during your time here, we’re truly sorry to hear that aspects of your return experience did not meet expectations. The concerns you’ve raised around leadership consistency, communication, performance management, and support during personal challenges are taken very seriously. At Vector, we’re committed to fostering a culture built on our values of Inclusiveness, Teamwork, and Make a Difference—not just in words, but in the day-to-day experience of every employee. When those values aren’t felt consistently, we know we have work to do. We also want to acknowledge your courage in raising concerns. We encourage employees to use internal channels to speak up, and while we aim to handle every matter thoughtfully and fairly, we recognize that outcomes don’t always align with expectations. Feedback like yours—particularly around manager training, clarity in expectations, and consistent policy application—helps us identify where we need to improve. We’re actively investing in stronger leadership development, clearer growth paths, and utilizing more robust tools like our engagement and pulse surveys to better listen and respond to our team. We're committed to this ongoing effort. Thank you again for your contributions and candor. We wish you all the best in your next chapter and appreciate the time you spent with us.

Pros

- Good intro to Sales - Industry Leader + Easy Pitch - Work Life Balance

Cons

- Mid-Upper-Executive management have no clue what they want from the SDR team. Constant changing expectations of KPIs. - Pay is lower than industry average - Lack of growth opportunities in sales. Constantly pushing overachieving SDRs to CSM or AM roles because they prefer AEs with past experience. Haven't promoted a single SDR to AE in one sector since January 2023. - Lack of Innovation and speed with product updates. - Subpar Customer Support.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you found value in the intro to sales, our position as an industry leader, and the work-life balance we strive to maintain. We also appreciate your candid feedback and want to acknowledge some of the concerns you raised. Career growth is incredibly important to us, and we’ve made intentional efforts to create clear development paths within the sales organization. While we understand it may not have been your personal experience, we want to clarify that we have promoted several SDRs to AE roles—specifically 5 in 2024 and 7 in 2023. Supporting internal mobility remains a top priority, and we’re always looking for ways to strengthen those pathways. We also recognize that consistent expectations and communication are key. Through regular engagement and pulse surveys, we’re actively gathering employee feedback to help guide improvements across leadership alignment, product innovation, and overall support.
