Tech Company with Heart

Pros

Vector's mission to help its customers be safer is truly at the heart of everything it does. Team members are passionate about what they do, are continually looking for ways to improve, and they have fun doing it. As a fast-growing tech company, things are always changing - which can be hard for some, but generally provides an opportunity for everyone. Leadership is transparent about where improvements are needed and seeks input from us regularly.

Cons

The company is in the process of rebuilding its culture post-Covid and figuring out issues like engaging a larger remote workforce, building social connections, improving DE&I, and creating more clear career paths. However, these are all topics they are aware of and working on.

Excellent Place to Work

Pros

Vector truly cares for their employees. While other companies send company surveys to their employees and never act on them, Vector takes them seriously and shows meaningful progress on the feedback they collect. The pay is very competitive and the merit increases in 2022 were above market average. They are very flexible on working remotely. The vision and mission is clearly articulated from the CEO on down, and I truly feel that we are all invested in the company's success. It's an excellent place to work!

Cons

None that i can think of.

Great mission, Worst CEO!

Pros

The mission and who this company serves is one of the best and the only reason I hung on as long as I did. I appreciate the values created and the fact they were not created in a bubble. Of course they were created before the egotistical c-suite dictators were brought into the company since early 2022. They are killing the values of the company!

Cons

CEO, Jonathan Cherins, is NOT a leader! A leader listens to other leaders. A leader does not stand on the white pillar and bark at those below. A leader does not change policies to make it easier to bring in his own clan to rule the show. He is far up in his elite status in life that he would not know how to be authentic in relating to any of his front-line employees. He is building an empire of rich white straight men who simply cater to his wishes - that is dangerous! If the leaders under him aren't praising him, they are simply scared of him! He will micro-manage you to death and his minions do the same. Best thing to happen to Vector would be a full C-suite sweep!

Thank you for your review; at Vector, we welcome all constructive feedback. We are proud of our mission and our values. Those values are owned and lived by all Vector team members, no matter their title. Our company was recently restructured for better scale and efficiency, and we acknowledge that change, especially at an organizational level, is never easy and often involves difficult decisions by the Executive Team. The positive effects of change are also often not immediate, but there are always good things happening at Vector. · Since our new CEO was hired, he and the Executive Team have acknowledged that the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging efforts at Vector need to improve, especially at the leadership level. · To that end, we have expanded our DEI&B initiatives and are hiring a VP/SVP, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to hold ourselves accountable for inclusion in our daily work. · New Employee Resource Groups now also help foster an inclusive and diverse workplace. · We’ve made changes to ensure working at Vector provides more flexibility and work-life balance, including updated Return to Work and Parental Leave policies. · A recently increased merit pool now recognizes and rewards more team members who go “above and beyond” at Vector. Thank you for your time spent at Vector and your conviction in our mission and values. We will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of our business.
