Pros

Very sharp people, willing to help and explain technical challenges. Each division may have a range of experiences depending on the individual but personally, I have found it both empowering and a fun/challenging environment thanks to a great manager. Learning a range of cutting edge technologies from GaN Power/RF, VCSEL and microLED to EUV mask blanks, STT-RAM and more.

Cons

None really, but its more of a macro, industry-wide issue that needs to attract new talent. Lots of employees are super smart and clearly loyal -- many with 20+ years of experience, some even 30! A positive sign is seeing young research scientists and engineers who have recently joined. Will help retain our edge in this global competitive environment…they are the future!

Pros

Very nice people, and a good management system. They are very friendly and you can feel they act like a family. I am just talking about Veeco San Jose. It was Ultrtech before and people still are friendly like in the old days. You can see lots of old people who act like your uncle or your dad and they help you in any situation. All higher managers respect the new employee and they try their best to make the situation comfortable for them. The whole environment is very good and the work-life balance is perfect. Nobody pushes you and you have the freedom to grow. I took more than 10 courses and they paid for all of them.

Cons

The only cons that they have is that they are too much friendly. For example an engineer can not work for more than two weeks and nobody says you should do something. This situation put pressure on other people who likes t work.

Could be a great company, after it cuts all the useless management.

Pros

Good benefits, fair pay and good people. The smart people in this company is the only thing that keeps it in business. Managers should should not take credit for this as they haven't earned it.

Cons

Poor management is rampant at Veeco, it prevents great people from working to their best potential. Cut the fat and let the smart people do the work. Managers often get in the way of the people who actually need to do the work. In many cases the managers are completely redundant!
