Pros

Veeva hires people that are very kind, hard-working, and humble. I genuinely liked everyone I worked with. Veeva has a fantastic strategy team that provides direction to product, sales, and marketing teams. They have a strong industry background and are key to making sure marketing programs are successful. This is one the best things about the company. Veeva is very ethical and transparent when it comes to marketing. They don’t hype up their products or inflate customer numbers. The company is financially stable. And they do right by their customers. Customer success is extremely important, which is rare to see nowadays. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the people. Everyone truly cares about doing a good job. And you can literally talk to anyone just by booking time on their calendar. There’s very little gossip compared to other companies. The CEO is smart, creative, and decisive and takes care of people that have been there for a long time. Veeva is quick to get rid of people that are not effective or are roadblocks. I see this as a good thing. Lastly, HR and IT departments are extremely responsive. Whenever I’ve had a question or needed something I got a response within an hour. It’s amazing.

Cons

Marketing budges are extremely small compared to companies of similar size and profit. And I mean SMALL. It was a struggle to even get $1000 approved. Budgets are set for the year ahead and cannot change. This makes it difficult to be flexible or try new things. You must run lean and make smart investment decisions. I don’t think there’s enough room for creativity or trying new things. Every single program is measured, but sometimes I think they are so focused on the details that they lose the bigger picture. Marketing has been going through some of the highest turnover I’ve ever seen in the past few years. This makes it difficult to work with speed. Sales is not required to use the CRM so it’s hard to track leads and impact of marketing campaigns. All conferences and events are managed on G sheets and PowerPoint. Processes are highly manual and confusing. Leadership is cracking down on PTO and hours worked. Depending on your role, you will be expected to travel after hours and work over weekends. This makes it difficult for people with families. They also seem to be monitoring working hours more closely than ever before. Salary is lower compared to other companies. Promotions are rare. Teams run lean and there’s a lot to do. This place will burn you out FAST.
