      Tense atmosphere

      Pros

      The salaries are decent. The assistants and some of the associates were friendly. Not much else to recommend the DC office.

      Cons

      Not collegial. The atmosphere is stiff and tense. My particular practice area did not have a diverse client base. I was not gaining a varied and broad scope of experience. Senior level associates were not being pushed up to partner.

      Pros

      Advertised 2+ to 20 yrs administrative experience and I was excited to have the opportunity gain more in-depth knowledge

      Cons

      Position actually required 10+ years paralegal experience; assigned attorney was very difficult/not open to inquiries/no learning curve; and working OT (although prior approval is required) counted against your proformance review, annual increase as well as bonus.
