Pros

Good pay. The only positive.

Cons

Racist management and staff. Corrupt HR and Union involvement. Rats in production. The worst management I have ever been privy to. Have no clue how to delegate and what is actually going on.

Pros

Decent benefits, 401k matching, profit sharing

Cons

NO STRUCTURE! HQ is in Brea, CA and you have all your executives there making decisions on behalf of their plant locations yet they do not take the time to review the concerns before forcing new processes and procedures. Too many new people in high-level positions who do not have the history of the business and NO CLUE how to manage people. They promote those who are undeserving and punish the hard working individuals. I have seen FIRST HAND numerous cases of HARASSMENT within the TRANSPORTATION dept. go ignored for years. In fact, they recently promoted this same person into another management role where they will still interact daily with the people they harass on a daily basis. the V.P.s and Director choose to ignore the facts and try to place blame in all the wrong places. The ONLY decent member of management in Transportation sits idly by suffering through it all and gets no recognition. CUSTOMER SERVICE RUNS THE COMPANY. And this is why they can't advance. They do not have proper processes in place and have all the focus on the new software which is distributed across the whole company and has been in process for about 3 years and still not close to being complete. All of the people that started on this project have since gone therefore it's like starting from scratch. You have to enforce rules that benefit your business and this can be done while pleasing the customer yet, they do not enforce them. You will end up with the responsibilities for 8 roles while only being paid for an assistant role UNLESS you come in fresh with a degree (doesn't even have to be in a related field). They have limitations on promoting within so you have no shot of receiving proper compensation unless you get it when you first start. Their "core values" are crap and do not apply to employees. You are insignificant in the world of Ventura Foods.

Pros

Pro family atmosphere, can work from home at times when you have the right boss, low stress, profit sharing, good health benefits.

Cons

Not very good wages, not very woman or minority-friendly, leadership doesn't always follow what they preach, do not do a good job from promoting from within.
