Company only worried about money

Pros

People you work with if you have a good team, stores close at 7pm so people aren’t home in super late hours, we can get tipped. The products are decent.

Cons

This company only cares about the money it can squeeze out of the employees it has left. I’ve witnessed twice since Verano has owned müv that it has cut employee numbers by almost half and refuse to pay living wages for their people. They grind out all their employees to the bone until there’s nothing left for them to turn around and fire you as soon as it is convenient for them as they only care about the numbers they can produce on a spreadsheet. This is NOT a company to work for if you genuinely want to help people and have a work life balance as it’s only goal is to outsell trulieve which is a terrible role model to compete with. This company is just like every single place you’ll find run by a corporation. The company also would rather treat aggressive patients as opportunities and give them free items instead of protecting the dignity and safety of their staff. This company is a disgusting excuse for a cannabis company.

Salaried; but at an hourly rate

Pros

Discounts, working in a new industry, talking about cannabis.

Cons

The amount of time spent instore has employees making less than $17/hr making the same pay as their GM when you figure out the hourly rate. 60k is not worth over 50hrs in this industry. No bonuses until end of the year and thats if the company hits its goal, holidays are non-existant unless its thanksgiving and Christmas Day. After taxes and figuring my hourly I make just over $21/hr with no tips and no overtime. Goals set by supervisors are impossible to hit e.g. an average ticket goal was not made last month but this month its the same or higher and we are running 4x more sales with 4x more locations in the same area...mathmatically it doesnt work.

Pros

Pretty flexible bosses will work with your schedule to the best of their ability You get some experience out of it.

Cons

If you expect any kind of fair treatment this is not the place for you. They can, will, and do discriminate against employees. At best you'll be pulled into what is essentially highschool level drama. Favoritism runs absolutely rampant on all levels of employment, and they don't even attempt to disguise it. You will be *heavily* exploited. You will not have any consistency in your work schedule. Their managers do not respond to issues regarding hr they also do not do communication in any sense of the word. Hr is a joke AT BEST and at worst legitimately following illegal practices that harm their workers directly.
