Pros

The structure and tidiness of the center is well-kept. Clients are very sweet and diverse. Provides training for RBT certification and ABA techniques.

Cons

Staff, BCBAs, and HR have their means of facilitating technician roles. Prior experience from other ABA agencies will be an asset or hindrance. VB implements its practice for providing services to the kids at the agency. Staff who have remained at the agency for some time are not welcoming, unsupportive, and seem disinterested in showing you the ropes. A lot of "Cliques" that higher-ups turn a blind eye to, definitely can be seen with rules that are not enforced equally. If you are unsure about pursuing a career in ABA this is not the right fit, regardless of your passion to help kids with ASD, the agency will push more work onto you with the notion of providing growth. During my time at the agency, individuals in the mentioned cliques would speak negatively about other staff through the devices used for data collection.

Pros

As a new BCBA , I had all of the supports I needed to be successful. There are resources for just about everything you can think of and leadership supports your autonomy as a professional.

Cons

On days where techs call out, even your fully staffed team could get pulled putting you in all day coverage.
